IASMUN 2015 Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQ section is for the answers to the questions you might have, or you have already asked. Try to find your answer here first before contacting us.

01

What do I have to prepare before MUN?

Every delegate must prepare their position paper before the MUN.

02

How long will the MUN be?

The conference will be for 2 days.

03

What is the dress code?

Students should be dressed in formal attire. A western business suit is expected, however, traditional formal attire may be worn as long as it shows respect and dignity to other delegates.

04

This is my first time at MUN, how does it work?

Don't worry, your committee chairs will make sure everything flows smoothly and you will understand everything soon. If you have any questions about whether you are allowed to do something or what is next then you may raise a "point of parliamentary inquiry" in which you ask a question about the procedure to the chairs.

05

I'm in a committee session, and I need to go to the toilet.

You may raise a "point of personal priviledge" (this point may interrupt the speaker), in which you may ask to leave to the bathroom, ask the speaker to speak louder and any other physical discomfort the delegate is feeling. For more points and motions, visit the documents page here.
